The Three Charities Prior to the invention of the charities commission the village had two charities , one for the poor from the estates of Alice Dix and one for fuel from the firing allotments . Alice Dix later gained a subsidiary called the Educational Trust . These three parts have now been united under a new scheme incorporating their assets and aims into a new charity called :- This charity is run by four trustee's appointed by the parish council and one ex-officio trustee appointed by the lord of the manor . Management and disbursement of fund's is at the sole discretion of the trustee's who take regard of the conditions imposed by the charity commission and the governing document for the charity . The trustee's meet several time per year but urgent requests for assistance can be dealt with at any time by contacting the trustee's directly To make an application for help this Christmas please write to the Secretary Mrs Dorothy Handford, Saxon Lodge, West Street, Icklingham or email bac@talk21.com Closing date 30 November.
